My work is an exploration of the times we live in and have lived in. What we have learned from history and how it affects us today is a constant in my mind. Reoccurring themes in my work include, human struggle and self doubt, misogyny, talent, scale, humor and catastrophe. Humans are the inventors of history, and fame. By exploring the many facets of famous icons I am able to feed off the perceptions we have of them as a society. As a society our perceptions are based on fact and fiction. Due to media outlets, entertainment and widely disseminated print materials, we feel we know those that we have never met. I am fascinated by double entendre and utilize it in most of my work.
